BlueSecure Intrusion Protection System

BlueSecure™ Intrusion Protection System
A complete wireless intrusion detection and protection system
that secures your enterprise network infrastructure.
Enterprise wireless LANs are rapidly finding their way from pilot projects to
mainstream network deployments—from universities to hospitals, from
manufacturing and government to corporate networks. Yet WLANs are inherently
more vulnerable to external hacker attacks and malicious users. That’s why the
BlueSecure™ Intrusion Protection System (IPS) is indispensable as an RF
intrusion detection and protection system. BlueSecure IPS includes a
Windows-based Server integrated with powerful, purpose-built RF Sensors deployed
on the network. It’s a complete security monitoring solution that protects your
information assets from current and emerging wireless threats.
Detect and Protect Against Rogue Devices
BlueSecure IPS protects the enterprise from all types of rogue
devices including Access Points, rogue clients, neighboring WLANs, peer-to-peer
(ad hoc) networks, and software APs as they appear.
Not only can BlueSecure IPS alert you to potential WLAN threats, it can also
actively contain or block threatening rogue devices. By enabling BlueSecure
IPS’s powerful blocking capability, you can disable offending devices
immediately from a remote location. This minimizes the window of time from alert
to resolution, which is critical to ensuring the security of your
network.Identify Hackers Before They Attack Wireless hackers are armed with a
variety of tools and can break your WLAN with probe-based identity theft
algorithms and denial-of-service attacks. BlueSecure IPS scans for these
suspicious activities across your entire enterprise geography, reporting attacks
in real time so you can respond before damage is done.
Enforce WLAN Security Policies
WLAN security policies can reduce vulnerabilities that hackers will
exploit, but policy is useless if it isn’t enforced. BlueSecure IPS notifies you
for policy enforcement when RF security is violated. Enforcing RF security
policy for your WLAN complements all the user security and policy management
tools available through BlueSecure Controllers.
Diagnose Network Health Problems
When network problems are suspected, use BlueSecure IPS to drill down
on any access point or client. You can launch advanced diagnostics for remote
troubleshooting using per-station statistical detail and full seven-layer
traffic analysis.
Ensure Compliance
For government and healthcare institutions deploying wireless,
BlueSecure meets NIST recommendations, HIPAA regulations and also complies with
Department of Defense Directive Number 8100.2, which calls for highly secure
wireless networks and makes 802.11 intrusion detection and protection a
requirement.

| BlueSecure IPS
overlays your existing network without requiring modification of
your existing wired or wireless infrastructure. As with BlueSecure
Controllers, BlueSecure IPS is open systems-based and proactively
monitors RF for the entire physical infrastructure in a
vendor-agnostic and implementation-agnostic approach. The system
scales from small WLAN deployments to enterprise WLANs with hundreds
of access points. |
True Plug-n-Play Setup and Operation
BlueSecure IPS is designed for ease of setup and operation. You’ll go
from out-of-the-box to monitoring live traffic within minutes. The BlueSecure
Server GUI is intuitive because it focuses on exception information – not reams
of useless data. The Server’s Online Advisor helps you interpret the management
information and respond quickly.
Know Who is Using Your WLAN
BlueSecure IPS provides real-time updates of who’s using your WLAN.
View all the access points and clients around your physical infrastructure –
who’s associating with whom and what’s being sent over the WLAN.
